A really complex fully CG project that has been a refreshing opportunity to do a bit of character animation and put the visuals to the test trying not to copy anyone, but develop a different look for this kind of projects.
The whole commercial was organized around continuous tweaking of any model as the short deadline forced us to think in a parallel way of working mixing all sorts of tools, from the of-the-self ones to custom built for the feathers.
During production the actual modelling was not only supervised but the director, Ruairi, but he as a CG artist himself took those models and gave them the last touch, sometimes quite big, but of course this guaranteed it was his hand behind every model.
Interesting also it was our first feather creature and once we jumped on it we had to go all the way to get it done, feathers and closing the wings was pretty tough job and it took us a bit to get it right but worked just fine at the end.
