A wonderfully fun project to work on, where the major challenge was around integration and for this, tracking the camera on sand was truly hard to do. Let's remember, this is shot on film, it is 2007, and the latest camera math models are great but not that great, so a large portion of the work was to correct the results coming from 3DEqualizer, mostly due to the poor data we could hold onto.
Scale, plastic materials and integration in compositing were crucial to sell the scale of the car playing on a giant sandbox.
