Director: Juan Cabral
Production: Redrum Films
Role: VFX Supervision

The project was small in terms of the amount of VFX, but of course, it was very, very precise and subtle, and, like the movie, everything was there for a very good reason, so no funky things, just a well-executed few shots.

And I won't ruin the experience, so go and watch the movie. ;-)

Planet

Ok, I will explain a tiny bit... we did a few shots like the Earth shots as they required a particular animation of the light and shadows, therefore using stock footage or even NASA material was not viable. Our planet Earth was built at 128K and optimised with tiling in mind using Arnold.

In doing so, we could transition to any area of the globe and get reasonably close to cities if that was needed, protecting our work from becoming obsolete, too. Of course, this required a bit more time, but the asset built was super efficient, and ultimately, we could extend it in the future to do more of those types of shots.

Ski Jump

We also worked on the ski jump section, making it more dramatic, populating it with crowds and making sure the environment looked as wintery and Olympic as possible.

So, all in all, it was a great experience where we did some lovely work to help the story and the scale of the project.
