This project was one of those focused jobs in which we can work on this one effect carefully and support the story as much as possible. In this case, the story of how Arsenal's terrific fans power their team.
The aim was to produce a lightning bolt of Arsenal energy, which was constructed as a mix of lightning bolts of big and small scale to produce their own signature.
This was achieved with a mix of 3D elements and 2D elements composited expertly in Nuke.
We utilised a few in-camera techniques and mixed real live lightning with CG one that we could control.
